Course Description

This course is structured and aimed at participants who wish to learn the basics of English quickly and resourcefully. In this course, participants are introduced to fundamental writing techniques and concepts whereby it will develop their legal communication skills on an impromptu and formal basis, all of which will be introduced through debates, presentations, and mock simulations.

Participants will receive a syllabus. The syllabus works as an agenda and a reference for them as it includes a time table with specific lectures, texts, and exercises to be covered throughout the course along with a list of objectives to be achieved by the completion of this course.

This course is considered the linguistic backbone that will prepare participants for advanced courses like Legal English and Contract Drafting.

Method of Instruction

The course adopts an active learning approach whereby participants will be given case studies to discuss and debate with the instructor and among each other along with mock simulations and speeches as previously mentioned.

Mrs. Nada Ajram

English Instructor

Nada Joseph Ajram is a graduate of the Lebanese University in English Language and Literature. Currently, she is an instructor of English at AUST, AUT, AUL, and Beirut Bar Association.

She is the Team Leader of Intensive English I and Intensive English II at AUST in Beirut, Sidon, and Zahle; in addition to being a certified Camla Speaking Examiner in Lebanon, from the University of Michigan.

 She is skilled at communicating complex information in a simple and professional way. Her most rewarding accomplishment is earning a certificate as a trainer of trainers.
